Save the Rose – premiere at The Rose Playhouse, Bankside, London
Being invited to screen my film Save the Rose at the Rose Playhouse was an opportunity I could not turn down. I can’t pretend to be a natural performer, but standing in front of an audience where Edward Alleyn, Christopher Marlowe and Will Shakespeare had once worked was a very proud moment.
I began the evening with a talk about the Bankside area in the late 1980s, illustrated with the film North Southwark Current showing the riverside from Blackfriars to Southwark Bridge filmed in 1983. A screening of my film, Save the Rose followed.
