Save the Rose – Rose Playhouse – 7 Feb 2014

Rose Playhouse talkSave the RoseSave the Rose – premiere at The Rose Playhouse, Bankside, London

Being invited to screen my film Save the Rose at the Rose Playhouse was an opportunity I could not turn down. I can’t pretend to be a natural performer but standing in front of an audience where Edward Alleyn, Christopher Marlowe and Will Shakespeare had once worked was a very proud moment.

I began the evening by giving a talk about the Bankside area in the late 1980’s, illustrated with the film North Southwark Current showing the riverside from Blackfriars to Southwark Bridge filmed in 1983. This was followed by a screening of my film, Save the Rose.
